DIGITAL RADIOGRAPHIC TESTING
Unlike conventional radiography, DRT technology is an innovative and advanced form of x-ray imaging that utilizes digital x-ray sensors, which eliminates the need for film. This non-destructive inspection process uses a digital detector panel/plate to capture digital radiographic images during object examination.
Results are almost instant and immediately available on a computer screen. This allows for short exposure times so that the images can be interpreted more quickly. The images produced by this method are of high quality with the ability to identify flaws in a material, foreign objects in a system, and inspect a material for corrosion under insulation.
DRT requires less energy to operate in a safer work environment, which results in smaller exclusion zones, as well as faster shot times which result in high resolution images. In addition to being safer this also results in faster, more informed decision making, a clear understanding of next steps and significant cost savings.
